BENDBROADBAND TO CARRY PAC-12 NETWORKS, PROVIDING PAC-12 FANS IN OREGON WITH UNPRECEDENTED ACCESS TO THEIR FAVORITE TEAMS
BendBroadband Subscribers Will Enjoy Hundreds of Live Pac-12 Sporting Events When Networks Launch on August 15, 2012
SAN FRANCISCO – Pac-12 Enterprises has reached an agreement with Bend Cable Communications to carry the Pac-12 Networks, providing BendBroadband customers in Oregon with 24/7 access to their favorite teams in the Pac-12 Conference, it was announced Wednesday.
The new agreement allows BendBroadband subscribers to enjoy the hundreds of live sporting events, including 35 football games and other specialty content that will be featured on the Pac-12 Networks. The new networks launch August 15, with Pac-12 Oregon and Pac-12 National on BendBroadband’s Essentials tier in Standard and High Definition. BendBroadband also plans to launch Pac-12’s TV Everywhere service as part of its “bendbroadband2go” platform.
“BendBroadband chose to carry the National and all six Regional nets because the Pac-12 Conference is very important to our Central Oregon Community,” said Amy Tykeson, BendBroadband CEO. “We are excited to provide fans from each of these regions access to coverage of their favorite teams.”
During the first three weeks of the 2012 football season, the Pac-12 Networks will televise three games from Oregon and Oregon State, including OSU’s home opener in week one and Oregon home games against Fresno State and Tennessee State in weeks two and three.
“With football season and all of the Fall sports fast approaching, the Pac-12 Networks will be providing great content to our fans on a daily basis, and we are delighted that BendBroadband customers are now part of that,” said Gary Stevenson, President of Pac-12 Enterprises.  “We are in a unique position to tell stories that haven’t been told before about our student-athletes, our coaches and our universities. BendBroadband customers will now have the opportunity to follow and become more engaged with their favorite teams.”
The Pac-12 Networks, which consist of one national and six regional networks, are scheduled to televise 850 live sporting events in the first year, including 35 football games, more than 130 men’s basketball games and hundreds of Olympic sports. In addition to all of the live games, the Pac-12 Networks will feature shoulder programming that will include pregame and postgame shows, football coaches’ shows and Classic Games, among others. BendBroadband subscribers will also be able to watch games from all six regions on Pac-12 Now, the TV Everywhere platform that allows fans to watch games on connected devices like the computer and iPad.
